By closing in from all directions, using "the shield wall" and hosing the crowd with water "spiced" with tear gas, the riot slowly but finally came to an end. Over 200 men were arrested in during the riots, but in the end, only 48 were charged with any crime. After the riots, the police station was rebuilt into a modern day fortress, that can be totally blocked off, hold a max of 1500 riot police for two weeks, and can monitor Kamagasaki with cameras that are set all over town.
